St John's Holiday Club

St. John’s Holiday Club runs for one week during the school summer holidays. It caters for children in Reception to Year 7 and is open to people who worship at St. John’s and the wider community. Each year we have a theme which involves bible based teaching, arts and crafts, games and lots of fun.
Reflections on Last Years Holiday Club Holiday Club this year was as busy as ever with approximately 40 children attending. The theme this year was about Pirates who decided to go good. We also had two other pirates Yo Ho and Heave Ho who helped the children to solve clues and find the real treasure in life. The DVD and stories helped us to plot a route on the map which joined up to make the numbers 3 and 8 and told us to look up. Of course we then realised that this was the memory verse we had been using all week during the pieces of eight game. We all then agreed that yes the real treasure in life is knowing Christ Jesus.
